I feel like this decision is better than suspending him for the entire 2009-2010 season, but I think it's crap that he has to serve a suspension. I think this is a horrible decision on Goodell’s part I understand he has to do it because he does not want the backlash from PETA, but this man has lost two years of his life while also accumulating a massive amount of debt. I feel as if the almost two year prison sentence has allowed him to pay his debt to society and to the NFL. I would take a bet that majority of the NFL feels the same way I do and they would appreciate if Vick was allowed to return to the only life that he knows. Terrell Owens came out publicly saying that he thinks Vick has served his time and should be allowed to play football immediately (Terrell Owen's article and Video on Vick). The conditions of Vick’s new suspension have not been released, but it does give him the opportunity to play in week 6.

Vick also released a statement through his agent Joel Segal:
"I would like to express my sincere gratitude and appreciation to commissioner Goodell for allowing me to be readmitted to the National Football League," Vick said. "I fully understand that playing football in the NFL is a privilege, not a right, and I am truly thankful for the opportunity I have been given.
"As you can imagine, the last two years have given me time to re-evaluate my life, mature as an individual and fully understand the terrible mistakes I have made in the past and what type of life I must lead moving forward."
